Yes. The prescription appetite suppressants we use, such as Adipex P, are safe and effective for controlling hunger. What is HCG?
In the 1950’s, world renown British endocrinologist Dr. A.T.W. Simeons discovered the solution to unlock our abnormal fat stores. He discovered that a natural hormone, known as Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG), has a dramatic effect on weight loss. HCG is a natural hormone produced exclusively by the placenta of pregnant women. Dr. Simeons published the results of his research in a book called “Pounds and Inches” explaining how daily HCG injections, combined with a very low caloric intake (hence, “the 800 calorie” HCG diet) helped his obese patients lose 1-2 pounds per day without feeling hungry. He demonstrated that HCG has a natural ability to burn abnormal fat. HCG is important during pregnancy because it draws fuel from excess fat to provide calories for the unborn fetus. This is natures way on ensuring the baby gets proper nutrition even if the mother does not eat. The HCG Diet takes advantage of this to treat overweight individuals by combining HCG with a very low calorie diet. In doing so you may only eat 800 calories, but you body consumes many more calories from your unwanted fat stores, resulting significant weight loss.
Has this method been used before?
Yes. HCG has been used in thousands of cases before it was first reported in the Medical Journal Lancet in November of 1954. Since then, many more have been treated.
Is HCG harmful?
No. During pregnancy it is produced in a quantity several hundred thousand times the amount used for treatment of obesity, yet it does not harm mother or baby.
Can it be used by both men and women?
Yes. It has successfully caused weight loss in men and women.
I just had an EKG and/or blood work done. Can I bring that with me?
Our protocol requires us to perform an EKG and blood work during the initial visit. We will accept EKG’s and blood work results if they have been done within 3 months of your initial visit with us, however, this will not change the initial program fee. Based on your test results, our physicians may order additional tests when your weight loss goals are achieved to assess for improvement, which in many cases is astounding!
What is the nutritional plan?
The foods we recommend are all easy to find and a normal part of everyday life. We use a low calorie diet that consists of lean protein, favorable carbohydrates and good fats. It is proven to lower blood insulin levels, which increases the body’s ability to burn fat and curb sweet and starch cravings.
Is it really necessary to come on a weekly basis?
We require weekly visits to assess your progress, monitor your vital signs, dispense your medication and make any indicated changes that may be needed to help you achieve your goal weight and ultimately a healthy lifestyle.
Does the program incorporate any exercise?
We recommend that our patients continue any regular physical activity that they are accustomed to and will modify the plan accordingly. Although we do not specifically require a determined amount of exercise, our weight loss program gradually recommends and introduces a moderate amount of exercise, brisk walking in particular, that significantly improves overall health, well-being and quality of life. As progress is made, more detailed recommendations will be offered.
What happens if I have medical problems? Will I be able to enroll?
Almost everyone who joins our program has a medical problem, especially those associated with being overweight such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol. Our physicians are experts in determining whether you are a suitable candidate for our program. If there are any unusual concerns based on your medical history or test results, we will obtain recommendations and/or medical clearance from your primary care physician or sub-specialist if it is necessary.
